number of tour operators offering these trips that show-case the agricultural
achievements of the country by visiting both the peasant farms and the
large scale intensive farming outlets in Kenya. The end result of these

informative and engaging. Kenya is a country that is renown for its export
of coffee, tea, pyrethrum, flowers and other horticultural products. Locally

Day 01 Nairobi -
Kiambu - Nairobi
Breakfast at your hotel then depart for Kiambu town where you
will be able to visit some of the coffee farms in the area. From Kiambu
proceed on to Tigoni, an area rich in tea. Lunch will be at the Kentmere
Club, paid direct by clients before starting the journey back to Nairobi
for dinner and overnight.
Day 02 Nairobi -
Aberdare Safari Club
After breakfast at the hotel you check out and depart Nairobi
for Murang'a via Del Monte farm, which grows pineapple fruits. Arrive
in Murang'a and visit some of the farms and get to know how people in
this area grow their crops and the main crop that grows in this area.
Have a picnic lunch before departing for Nyeri which is further north
visiting a few more farms en route. Upon arrival, check in at your hotel
with time at leisure as you wait for dinner.
DAY 03 Aberdare Safari
Club - Sweetwaters Luxury Camp
Breakfast is served at the hotel then you depart for Sweetwaters
Game Sanctuary. Arrive at Sweetwaters Private Wildlife Sanctuary and do
a game drive. Sweetwaters is home to chimpanzees imported from Rwanda
where they were being mistreated. It is also home to Morani, a tame rhino.
Lunch at a Nanyuki hotel then go back to Nyeri for dinner and overnight.
DAY 04 Sweetwaters
Luxury Camp - Embu
Breakfast then check out from the hotel. Depart Nyeri for Embu.
Upon arrival check in at your hotel followed by lunch. Visit the villages
in Embu to be able to interact with the local communities learning about
their way of life. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
DAY 05 Embu Town
- Meru National Park - Meru Town
After being served with breakfast at the hotel and you check out
and depart Embu town and drive to Meru via Nanyuki to arrive at Meru National
Park and do a game drive. Have lunch at Leopard Rock Lodge then leave
the park for Meru town where you check in at a hotel for your dinner and
overnight. Meru is most famous for miraa (Cartha edulis) growing but has
a few coffee plantations still remaining.
DAY 06 Meru - Rift
Valley - Lake Nakuru
After breakfast at the hotel leave for Nakuru via Nanyuki and
Nyahururu. Arrive at Nakuru in time for lunch and check in at your hotel.
Around 1530 depart the town for Lake Nakuru National Park and do some
game drives. After the game drives, go back to the hotel for dinner and
overnight.
DAY 07 Lake Nakuru
- Eldoret
Depart for Eldoret after breakfast at your hotel. Arrive at Eldoret
and check in at a hotel in this fast growing town. After checking in,
take a tour of the nearby wheat farms. Wheat is the main crop that is
grown here. You will also have a talk with the wheat farmers before going
back to the hotel for lunch. After lunch take another tour to Iten to
enjoy the beautiful sceneries. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.
DAY 08 Eldoret -
Kitale (The Agricultural Heart of Kenya)
Breakfast is served in the hotel then check out. Depart for Kitale
to arrive at mid-day. Check in at Kitale Club followed by lunch. Main
crop grown in Kitale is maize, which is distributed to most parts of the
country. After a few brief stops visit Kitale museum then get back to
the hotel for dinner and overnight.
DAY 09 Kitale - Webuye
- Kakamega (Paper Production from Forest
Logs)
After breakfast check out and drive through Webuye Town home to
the Pan Paper industry to arrive in Kakamega and check in at the hotel
followed by lunch. Visit Kakamega Forest in the afternoon, which is best
explored on foot. Trek through the forest, which is home to over 350 bird
species, some of which are endemic to the reserve, among other reptiles,
monkeys and trees some of which are also endemic to the forest. After
the walk, go back to the hotel for dinner and overnight.
DAY 10 Kakamega -
Kisumu
Breakfast at the hotel and check out then depart for Kisumu via
the Weeping Stone along the Kisumu-Kakamega road and hear fork lore about
the huge bolder and why it weeps. Arrive in Kisumu and check in at your
hotel. After checking in, drive to the Impala Sanctuary, home to a few
caged animals such as the leopard, hyena, baboons among others. From the
sanctuary, go to Dunga, a fishing point and fish market at the lakeside.
Return to your hotel for lunch, then depart again to Ahero for a visit
to the rice farms and also get to meet the rice farmers. Go back to your
hotel for dinner and overnight.
DAY 11 Kisumu - Kericho
(Tea Plantations)
Breakfast at the hotel then depart to Kericho Town. Upon arrival
check in at the hotel. After checking in you proceed to drive around Kericho
tea farms and factory. Kericho is the highest tea-producing zone in East
Africa. Lunch at your hotel then continue with the tour of Kericho to
learn about tea production and the people of this region. Return to the
lodge for dinner and overnight.
DAY 12 Kericho -
Kisii - Narok (Tea
Farming, Banana, Coffee and Corn)
Breakfast at the hotel then depart Kericho for Kisii. En route,
you will be able to experience a very friendly climate since these are
high altitude areas. Kisii is most famous for bananas. Take a tour around
the town and its environs to interact with the Kisii people. Lunch will
be at a town hotel then start your journey to Narok. Arrive at Narok and
check in at your hotel for dinner and overnight.
DAY 13 Narok
(Subsistance Farming and Large Scale
Wheat Farms)
After an early breakfast in your hotel you leave to visit the
Maasai Manyattas (homesteads). At the Manyattas you meet the local communities
who are mainly the Maasai people, then go back to your hotel for lunch.
Later visit the wheat farms in the area then go back to the hotel for
dinner and overnight.
DAY 14 Narok - Nairobi
Breakfast in Narok then depart for Nairobi.
Lunch at a city hotel then prepare for dinner at the Carnivore before
departure to the airport for your flight back home.
