Serenget Shall Never Die, the Land of the Endless Plains
One of the most unique wilderness areas of the world, fantastic in its natural beauty and unequalled in its scientific value. It occupies 14763sq Km. This Park is one of the most popular wildlife sanctuaries in the world. One of the most remarkable scenes in this wildlife sanctuary is the migration of wildebeest, zebras, giraffe, gazelle, buffalo and other plain animals. As the herds move to new grazing grounds they are followed by predators such as lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, jackals and hunting dogs waiting for weak prey, while vultures soar overhead waiting for their share of the kill. This is one of the largest of all Tanzanian National Parks with an area of 14,763km2. The Park's terrain varies from the vast treeless central and southern Serengeti to plains and savannah type stretches with acacia trees, magnificent small swamps, and Lakes. These features give the park a fascinating habitat. Serengeti National Park has about 35 species of plain Animals, a wonderful selection of bird life survey estimates indicate the Animal population includes more than 3,000 lions, 1,600,000 wildebeests and 500,000 Zebras and more than 400 species of birds.
